Prenatal Partner Yoga Workshop at Carrboro Yoga Company in Carrboro

October 1, 2017 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM $40; $35 until a week before

This workshop will provide a supportive, fun, and nurturing environment for expectant moms and their birth partners. We will focus on poses that are beneficial throughout pregnancy and during labor (both for pregnant women and those who love them) and learn breath, massage, and relaxation techniques designed to relieve some of the challenges of pregnancy and prepare for childbirth. Enjoy a relaxing and nourishing afternoon connecting with yourself, your partner/friend/support person, and your little one.
Suitable for all trimesters. No previous experience with yoga is necessary.


Teaching Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga – a Weekend Workshop at Bliss Body Yoga in Raleigh

September 8 – 10, 2017:  Friday -7:00 PM – 9:30 PM, Saturday – 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Sunday – 1 PM – 3:30 PM

The needs, joys, and challenges specific to women before, during, and after childbearing offer teachers the opportunity to deeply connect with women during these transformational times in life. Increase your knowledge about this highly-desired specialty, and make deeper connections with students who may need it most!


In this training, you’ll learn about

  • Modifications for poses for pregnant students
  • Contraindications for prenatal and postnatal practitioners
  • Common complaints of pregnancy—and how yoga can help
  • A general overview of pregnancy by trimester (and an overview of postpartum concerns) 
  • Anatomy of pregnancy, labor and birth and the changes experienced by women during these times
  • Sequences for specific concerns in prenatal classes
  • Pranayama practices for pregnancy and labor

Postnatal Reset at Carrboro Yoga Company in Carrboro

December 9, 2017 1:00 PM2:30 PM    $25; $20 until a week before

Whether you’re six weeks postpartum or six years, this is the workshop for you! Post-pregnancy, the abdominal muscles and hips can benefit from integrative poses and movements to get rocking again. In this 60-minute workshop, we’ll discuss the changes your abs and hips have undertaken, and then we’ll move through a series of useful core-engagement activities and hip strengtheners to reawaken the ability of your body. And if you have tight and tired shoulders, we’ll show you useful ways to find relief. You’ll leave with a handout of movements you can do on your own at home to continue your strengthening journey.
